FAQ

Which AION 2 class has the highest DPS?
This site does not claim a measured winner without comparable logs from the same version and encounter. Choose among melee, ranged and caster damage roles based on uptime, mechanics and group needs.
Why are healers high on a PvE tier list?
A group PvE demand list measures contribution to completing content, not personal damage. Healing and tanking can be essential even when their individual DPS is lower.
Are Korean DPS results valid for global?
They can be useful context, but patch, skill and content differences must be checked before treating a regional result as a global ranking.

Which AION 2 DPS class should you choose?

Start with combat style: Gladiator or Assassin for melee, Ranger for ranged weapon play, and Sorcerer or Spiritmaster for magic. These are a useful shortlist of damage-focused roles rather than a measured ordering. A class you can keep active through a boss’s mechanics is a better choice than a theoretical winner you struggle to play.

Our homepage tier list answers three different questions: party demand in PvE, utility in PvP, and comfort when playing solo. None is a combat-log leaderboard. That distinction matters when a healer or tank appears above a damage class in the PvE view.

Damage-role comparison

Class What to evaluate first A practical trade-off
Gladiator Melee uptime and how often a fight offers several targets Fighting close to enemies makes positioning part of damage output
Assassin Burst windows and safe access to a target Getting into range is as important as choosing an attack sequence
Ranger Range, movement and target switching Distance helps, but poor positioning still interrupts damage
Sorcerer Casting windows and area damage opportunities Movement-heavy encounters can punish uninterrupted casting plans
Spiritmaster Summon management, control and sustained pressure Pets and control add value that a single burst number may miss

Templar, Cleric and Chanter can contribute damage, but their build objectives depend on the job they are filling. Compare a support build with another support build rather than using its personal DPS to dismiss its party contribution. See the Cleric build and Chanter build for those role decisions.

What would make a DPS ranking trustworthy?

A useful comparison declares its game region, patch, encounter, equipment, skill configuration, party buffs, fight duration and sample size. It also separates raw damage from the time spent dealing damage. A short clip of a highly geared character is not enough to rank an entire class.

Before accepting a claimed ranking, ask:

  1. Are the players on the same patch and regional ruleset?
  2. Are equipment and progression close enough to compare?
  3. Is the result from one encounter or a range of fights?
  4. Does the sample include failed attempts, or only the best run?
  5. Are party buffs and support contributions accounted for?

We do not have a comparable global combat-log dataset for this edition. We therefore publish transparent role advice instead of inventing DPS numbers, top-player counts, or a live-data badge. The official class overview is the starting point for role descriptions; your current in-game skills and tooltips remain the source for build details.

Build for reliable damage before chasing a tier

Choose an encounter and make one change at a time. Learn which attacks can be used while moving, which need a safe window, and which are worth saving for a specific mechanic. Track whether the change improves your ability to stay engaged with the target, survive, and finish the fight. A failed attempt contributes no clear, regardless of a peak burst.

If you mostly play alone, use the Solo view on the tier list and the beginner guide rather than optimizing exclusively for a coordinated group’s conditions. Group utility and solo convenience are different goals; choose the one that matches your actual sessions.
